When adding general information about an incident report, clicking the Location field opens the Location Entry dialog, allowing you to add the address where the incident occurred.
TIP: To close the Location Entry dialog, click the Back button or click anywhere outside the dialog.
To use your current location as the address, click the Use My Location tab. Your device then asks for permission to use your location.
If you allow the use of your location, your approximate coordinates are automatically added to the Location text box on the Location dialog, and a list of suggested addresses display below. If the correct address displays, select it. The Location Entry dialog closes, and the address displays in the Location field.
If you deny the use of your location and click the Use my location tab again, an error message displays, stating that you denied the use of geolocation functionality.
The Geolocation button on the right side of the Location field may also be used to access your current location for the address.
If the address is known, begin entering it in the Location text box. As you type, the closest 10 results display in a list below. Continuing to type automatically refines the results based on the information entered.
If the correct address displays, select it. The Location Entry dialog closes, and the address displays in the Location field.
If the address does not display when you search for it using the Location text box, click the Enter new location tab to add a new address. The following fields display:
Street Address text box: The street name and number associated with the address.
Bldg, Suite, Apt, etc. text box: When applicable, the qualifier associated with the address. For example, if the address includes an apartment number such as 2A, enter it in this text box.
City text box: The city in which the address resides.
State list: The state in which the address resides.
Zip Code text box: The zip code in which the address resides.
When finished, click Save. The Location Entry dialog closes, and the new address displays in the Location field.
After adding the address to the Location field, clicking the Edit button reopens the Location Entry dialog, where you can edit or remove it.
