What's New in Report Writing

New Most Serious options

For arrest reports containing multiple charges, new Most Serious options now display on the right side of each listed charge, allowing you to view and edit which charge is set as the most serious without needing to open the individual charge. 

By default, the Most Serious option is automatically selected for the first charge added to the arrest report. If you select the option for another charge, a confirmation message displays, asking you to confirm the change.

New Information Information button and details

A new Information Information button now displays in the upper-right corner of cards on the Home screen when a report submitted to Enterprise Records has a status of Submission error. Clicking the button opens the Submission Details dialog, which provides additional information about the error and its location within the report.

New Show detailed messages toggle

A new Show detailed messages toggle has been added to the Settings screen. When this toggle is turned on, error messages contain additional, and oftentimes more technical, information about what caused the error.

Supported file types determined by Enterprise Records TCM configuration

When uploading files to the Documents page, the Report Writing application verifies whether the file is a valid TCM file type, which are now determined based on your agency's TCM configuration in Enterprise Records. If you attempt to upload an unsupported file type, an error message displays, and the upload fails.

Other Reports tab now available for all users

The Other Reports tab, which is used to view reports created by other users that you are not currently contributing to, is now available on the Home page for all Report Writing users. Previously, this tab was only available for supervisors.

New Contribute Contribute button 

When you open a report that you are not currently contributing to, the report displays in view-only mode. Clicking the new Contribute Contribute button at the top of a report adds you to the report as a contributing officer and allows you to edit its fields. 

The Contribute button only displays on reports with a status of In Progress or Rejected.

Matching functionality now used to search reports for duplicate entries

When adding a person or vehicle to a report, Report Writing now uses its matching functionality to help prevent duplicate entries from being added. If a previously selected match is found, it displays within the new Already in this report section on the Possible matches found dialog. However, the entry can be selected and added to the report again, if needed. 

Agency and primary officer names now display on report cards

The names of the agency and primary officer associated with a report now display on its corresponding report card on the Home page.
