Submit Offense check boxes now use Enterprise Records configuration

The Submit Offense check boxes, which display on the General section for arrest report charges and the General section for case report offenses, have been updated to be enabled based on the State-Reportable check box in Enterprise Records:

• If the State-Reportable check box is selected, the Submit Offense check boxes are also selected in Report Writing by default and information about the charge or offense is submitted with your monthly UCR (Uniform Crime Reporting) and/or IBR (Incident-Based Reporting) data.  

• If the State-Reportable check box is not selected, the Submit Offense check boxes are also not selected in Report Writing by default and information about the charge or offense is not submitted with your monthly UCR and/or IBR data.

Note that you can still select or clear the Submit Offense check boxes regardless of whether they are selected by default. Clearing the check boxes are useful in instances such as when there are duplicated crime codes for statutes as only one needs to be selected for submission

Date of birth and global subject sub-type must match for a person

After entering the date of birth for a person in any of the Date of Birth text boxes, Report Writing now automatically determines whether they are an adult or juvenile based on the configuration set in Enterprise Records' Minimum Adult Age text box. It then compares that with the selection made from the Global Subject Sub-Type list.

If the calculated age does not match the global subject sub-type selected, an error message displays below the Date of Birth text box. 

For example, consider the following:

• The Minimum Adult Age text box in Enterprise Records is set to 18. 

• You select Adult from the Global Subject Sub-Type list.

• You enter the birthdate of a person who is 15 years old.

Given the above scenario, error messages display below the Date of Birth text box as the person's age classifies them as an juvenile, but you marked them as an adult.

Number of returned search results displaying on the Select Case Offense dialog increased

Up to 100 results can now be returned on the Select Case Offense dialog when running a statute search.

Summary Narrative page removed from follow up case reports

The Summary Narrative page and its functionality have been removed from follow up case reports. 

The Summary Narrative page is still available for new case reports.

New Destination Agency list

A new Destination Agency list has been added to the General page of the Arrest Report module. This list is used to determine the corrections agency to which the arrest report should be exported to for use in the Jail Manager application's pre-booking software. 

Note that the Destination Agency fields must be populated for the export process to complete:

• When only one corrections agency is available, the field populates automatically.

• When more than one corrections agency is available, you must manually select it from the list. If you click the Export  button while the Destination Agency list is blank an error message displays, stating the information is missing and the export fails. 

File extension type retained while editing name

If you edit the name of a file attached to a report on the Documents page, its extension type is retained.

For example, a report contains the photo Blue Car.png. When editing its name, you only enter Light Blue Car - without the extension type. However, as the Report Writing application retains the file's extension type, .png is automatically added at the end of the name.

Review/error check running for supervisor reviews

When a supervisor is finished reviewing a report and opens the Approve or reject page, the Report Writing application now automatically runs a review/error check on the report. 

This helps prevent reports with incorrect or missing information from being approved.

Search functionality on Select Case Offense dialog updated

Previously, it has been reported that when performing a search on the Select Case Offense dialog, not all statutes were being returned. 

To combat this, statutes' crime class and state identifier are now being used to help pinpoint the correct search results. Actual search functionality of this dialog remains the same.

New Export Button

For agencies that are on the 2025.1 version of Enterprise Records and are integrated with the Jail Manager application, a new Export  button displays on the Arrest Report cards on the Home page. 

Clicking the Export  button exports a copy of the associated arrest report to the Jail Manager application for its pre-booking software.

When the process is complete, a notification message displays at the bottom of the screen, stating whether the export was successful or not.

Default message added for Reviewer and Priority lists

When the default values are selected from the Reviewer and Priority lists on the Review / Error Check page, a new message displays above the fields stating, "Default currently selected."

The default values for the Reviewer and Priority lists are set on the Settings page.

New prevention measures for uploading unsupported file types added

After selecting a file to upload to the Documents page, the Report Writing application now verifies that it is a valid TCM file type. If the file type is not supported, a new error message displays and the upload fails.
