4.32.0 Enhancements - Released on 1/16/2024

Change Notes

Single offense automatically selected on Relate Offenses dialog

When a case only has one associated offense, it is automatically selected when you open the Relate Offenses dialog.

Ability to revert status of comments and errors from complete to incomplete

After marking a comment from your supervisor or Enterprise Records personnel or an IBR error as complete by clicking the Acknowledge  button, the button can be clicked again to revert the comment or error's status back to incomplete.

TIP: When marked as complete, the Acknowledge  button displays as green. Alternatively, when marked as incomplete, it displays as light blue.

New Cancel Review button

A new Cancel review  button now displays at the top of reports with a status of Reviewing or Under Review. Clicking this button displays the Cancel review process? dialog, which asks you to confirm whether you want to cancel the review process and remove any edits made by yourself or others reviewing the report. Click End Review to complete this process and return the report to a status of Pending Review.

An example of when the Cancel review  button may be used is when another user starts reviewing a report but becomes unavailable due to illness before finishing it.

New Reviewer & Priority select section and fields

A new Reviewer & Priority select section has been added to the Settings page, and within it, settings that allow you to set a default reviewer and priority for the Review / Error Check page of reports. When the Set a default toggle is turned on, the selections made in the Reviewer and Priority text boxes on the Settings page are automatically applied to the corresponding text boxes on the Review / Error Check page of reports.

Ability to print field interviews and incident reports added

You can now print field interviews and incident reports using the Print  button, which displays on cards on the Home page or at the top of the field interview or incident report when opened.

For additional information on printing reports, see the Basics - Printing help topic.

4.31.0 Enhancements - Released on 12/9/2024

Change Notes

Functionality surrounding selecting a case subject as an arrestee updated

If you enter a case number when creating an arrest report, the Suspects dialog opens, and the following occurs:

  • If the associated case contains one or more suspects, the Suspect dialog displays with the option for you to select which subject should be added to the report as the arrestee. You can also choose to create a new arrestee instead.

If an existing subject is selected as the arrestee, their information is automatically added to the Arrestee page after clicking the Start button. Alternatively, if you select Create new arrestee, they must be added to the Arrestee page manually.

  • If the associated case contains no suspects, the Suspects dialog only states that an arrestee needs to be manually added.

Report Details PDF saved to Documents page upon report submission to Enterprise Records

After a supervisor approves a reviewed report and it is sent to the Enterprise Records queue, a Detail Report PDF is created and added to the Documents page of the report. The type of Detail Report created is dependent on the report type. For example, an Arrest Detail Report for an arrest report, a Field Interview Detail Report for a field interview, etc.

Additionally, if the submitted report is a follow-up case report, a second Case Detail Report PDF is added to the Documents page.

If the report is rejected by an Enterprise Records personnel, the Detail Report is removed from the Documents page and a new one is created after a supervisor approves it again.

4.30.0 Enhancements - Released on 11/11/2024

Change Notes

Information from a case automatically added to arrest report

When creating an arrest report, if you enter a case number, the following information from the case is automatically added to the arrest report:

  • The case's location, on the General page

  • The case number, on the General page

  • Any related offenses, on the Charges page

Reviewer and Priority fields disabled during review process

The Reviewer and Priority lists on the Review / Error Check page are now disabled during the review process, regardless of the supervisor's editing permissions.

Search link added to Select Case Offense dialog breadcrumbs

Clicking the Search hyperlink in the breadcrumbs on the Select Case Offense dialog, which display after running a search, displays the Search Statute or Description text box and returned results again.

New RMS Review check box filter added to Home page

A new RMS Review check box has been added to the Status section of the Filters pane, allowing you to filter the reports on the Home page to those currently being reviewed by Enterprise Records personnel.

Person, vehicle, or business match automatically selected when only one result is returned on the Possible matches found dialog

When adding a person, vehicle, or business to a report, there may be instances where they already exist in your agency's Enterprise Records database. In this case, the corresponding Possible matches found dialog displays, where you can select a matched record and import its information to the report.

Now, if only a single person, vehicle, or business displays on the Possible matches found dialog, its record is automatically selected. However, you must still click the Select button to add it to the report.

For additional information on Report Writing's  person/vehicle/business matching functionality, see Basics - Person / Vehicle / Business Matching.

Home page filter functionality updated

The currently selected tab in the Filters pane (My Reports or Other Reports) and your selected filters now remain applied to the Home page even after refreshing the page or logging out of the application.

As a reminder, the My Reports and Other Reports tabs only display on the Home page for supervisors.

4.15.0 Enhancements - Released on 9/26/2024

Change Notes

Ability for case report suspect to be added as arrestee on arrest report

When creating an arrest report, if you enter the number of a case that has been marked as complete in Enterprise Records and contains subjects marked as suspects, the following occurs:

  • If the associated case report contains one suspect, a confirmation message displays, stating that the arrest report is being created for that subject. Click the Start button to proceed, and the subject is automatically added to the Arrestee page.

  • If the associated case report contains multiple suspects, the Suspects dialog displays. Because an arrest report can only contain one arrestee, you must select the subject for which the arrest report is being created. After selecting the subject, click the Start button to proceed. The arrest report is created and the subject is automatically added to the Arrestee page.

  • If the associated case report contains no suspects, a confirmation message displays, stating that no RMS-approved case suspects are available. Click the Start button to create the arrest report, where you can manually add the arrestee on the Arrestee page.

Attempt/Commit list on Relate Offenses dialog automatically populated

When adding a subject's related offense to a case report, the Attempt/Commit list on the Relate Offenses dialog automatically populates based on the selection made in the Attempt/Commit list on the Offenses page.

Case Report dialog tabs removed

The New Report and Follow Up tabs have been removed from the Case Report dialog. Now, the Report Writing application automatically determines whether the case report you are creating is a new or follow up report based on the incident or case number entered.

Arrest Report creator automatically set as primary arresting officer

The officer who creates an arrest report is automatically set as its primary arresting officer

Supervisor selection from Reviewer list maintained

After selecting a supervisor from the Reviewer list on the Review / Error Check page and submitting a report for review, the selection is saved to your roaming profile. Each time you log in to Report Writing from that point forward, the Reviewer list automatically populates with the selected supervisor until it is manually changed again.
